The door-to-door enumeration process under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll has officially commenced in Kangpokpi district, covering areas under 50/32 Lower Kalapahar (A) of the 51-Saitu Assembly Constituency and the 50-Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency.

The revision exercise will cover a total of 1,10,290 electors across three Assembly Constituencies in the district. These include 46-Saikul, which has 56 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), 50-Kangpokpi with 42 BLOs, and 51-Saitu with 68 BLOs.

As part of the Enumeration Phase, 176 BLOs have been deployed to conduct house-to-house visits and personally distribute Enumeration Forms to all registered voters. Citizens may submit their completed forms either directly to their respective BLOs or through the online platform. The BLOs will visit every household to distribute, collect, and verify the forms to ensure comprehensive coverage of all eligible voters.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the primary objective of the Special Intensive Revision is to ensure that no eligible citizen is excluded from the Electoral Roll while preventing the inclusion of ineligible individuals.

Every Indian citizen who has attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date and is not otherwise disqualified under any law is entitled to be registered as a voter.

The Draft Electoral Roll is scheduled to be published on July 5. The period for filing claims and objections will remain open until August 4. Authorities will dispose of claims and objections by September 2, following which the Final Electoral Roll will be published on September 6.

Officials have urged residents to cooperate with BLOs during the enumeration process and submit accurate information to facilitate a transparent and inclusive revision of the Electoral Roll.
