The Nagaland State Government has reiterated that the existing regulations in Service Selection board will not be changed. The Naga Students’ Federation ( NSF) had submitted a memorandum on April 13 to the Chief Secretary of Nagaland that the viva-voice component in the ensuing Combined Staff recruitment Examination 2022 be reduced from the 12.5 percent to 5 percent in case of marks input for personal interview.
The State Government has clarified that the existing rules and regulations were formulated on July 20, 2020 after taking into confidence all the stakeholders including NSF. As such no demand for changes can be entertained for the ensuing selection process.

The Combined Staff Recruitment Exam was advertised on September 9, 2022 for 630 posts. The state level examination was conducted in 111 exam centres under 13 districts for around 50,000 . A total of 1368 applicants have qualified for the viva –voice which shall commence from April 18, 2023 and continue3 till June 28, 2023.
The Government stated that such similar regulations are followed in many states and the percentage of marks allocated for viva voice is as per the order of the Supreme Court of India’s ruling in the case of Haryana Staff Selection Commission.
Akunu S Meyase, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland stated in a press release that any changes can happen only in the next cycle of recruitment and not in the present ensuing one. Meyase appealed to the NSF, other student bodies, candidates, their parents and guardians, and the citizens at large, to kindly appreciate the inevitable need to continue the current recruitment process with the existing NSSB regulations, and let the forthcoming interview process starting on the April 18, 2023 be conducted without any hindrance in the interest of the future of the meritorious youth of the state.
