Death is painful and God must be cursed, as the soul who was needed here, but He chose him to be with Him

Temjen Toy the gentleman was a humble yet assertive bureaucrat who led from the front in good times or in bad times. Today the Government of Nagaland had accorded a state funeral which exemplifies his aura in the state administration.

For me, Temjen Toy was the leader who was the first to identify the dreadfulness of Covid19 in the region. Nagaland was the first state in the region to acknowledge the upcoming effect and introduced hand sanitisation as early as 7th March 2020 under his leadership. Later we have seen how he led the state from the front starting with the Covid war room to bringing back state people, mainly youths.

Temjen Toy has left a mark in the state where his persona will remain vibrant in the eyes of those who had worked with him. He was a true ‘Naga’, whose vision was ingrained in his work. He was the ‘thought process’ for the state of Nagaland and politician starting from the Chief Ministers depended heavily on his advise.

Death is painful and God must be cursed, as the soul who was needed here, but He chose him to be with Him.

His 12th April tweet should be crafted in the hills of Nagaland, for the people of Nagaland, he tweeted,

Accept it or not, COVID-19 has changed the world forever. It is my sincere prayer this Easter that along with the world, it’s people also change for the better. The world needs more tolerance, compassion and love.

Late Temjen Toy

Let Toy’s beautiful words keep us going forever and let ‘Nagaland for Christ’ be a dream come true with all the love, compassion and tolerance we can invoke…
