Dholai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a massive public gathering in the Dholai assembly constituency on the final day of election campaigning, giving a strong push to the BJP’s campaign in the region. The rally, held in support of party candidate Amiya Kanti Das, witnessed a significant turnout.
Senior party leaders, including national vice president Baijayant Jay Panda, district president Rupam Saha, minister Kaushik Rai, and leader Kavita Patidar, were present along with party workers and supporters.

In his address, Shah launched a sharp attack on the Congress, raising the issue of illegal infiltration. He also highlighted several development initiatives, including the elevated corridor and overbridges in Silchar, employment opportunities, wage hikes for tea garden workers, and projects related to the airport and medical college. He urged voters to back continued development.
Campaigning intensified across Dholai on the final day, with party workers and booth-level members conducting door-to-door outreach in different areas. Small rallies and foot marches were also organised to connect with voters.
BJP candidate Amiya Kanti Das, in a message shared on social media, appealed to voters with an emotional note, calling himself a member of their family. He urged people to vote for the lotus symbol by pressing the number 1 button on the EVM on April 9, and reiterated his commitment to the development of Dholai.
Concluding the rally, Shah appealed to voters to support the BJP in the interest of development and stability, and ensure the victory of Amiya Kanti Das. The large turnout and final-day campaign efforts indicate that the contest in Dholai has entered a decisive phase.
