Guwahati : Bharatiya Janata Party’s Assam unit will facilitate its 82 newly-elected MLAs at a grand programme in Guwahati on May 26 following the party’s victory in the 2026 Assam Assembly elections.
The felicitation ceremony will be held at the Srimanta Sankardev International Auditorium at 6 pm. Ahead of the event, the party will convene a special organisational meeting from 10 am at the Sri Sri Damodardev Auditorium in the presence of district and mandal presidents from across the state.
According to a statement issued by the Assam Pradesh BJP headquarters, the party will also honour presidents of all 39 organisational districts and 433 mandals for their role in securing the BJP’s third consecutive electoral victory in the state.

Party spokesperson Pranjal Kalita said the BJP’s emphatic mandate in the 2026 Assembly elections was the result of sustained efforts by grassroots workers and organisational leaders across Assam.
He said nearly 65 lakh party members and around 72,000 active karyakartas working across 31,486 polling booths played a key role in the party’s electoral success. Kalita further stated that compared to the 2021 Assembly elections, the BJP increased its vote share by nearly five percentage points and secured around 38 percent of the total votes polled in the 2026 elections.
According to the party, the programme has been planned not only to felicitate the newly-elected legislators but also to recognise the organisational strength, commitment and contribution of district and mandal-level leaders in expanding the BJP’s grassroots network in Assam.
The event is expected to be attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, State BJP President Dilip Saikia, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State Pabitra Margherita and other senior BJP leaders, MPs, former MLAs and party workers from across the state.
