Silchar: Assam University, Silchar, celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga on Sunday by organising a special programme titled ‘Yoga Sangam’ at the Assam University Indoor Stadium.

The event was organised by the Assam University Sports Board and witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students, faculty members, officers, and staff of the university.
This year’s observance was centred on the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting physical well-being, mental balance, and a healthier lifestyle across all age groups.
Participants performed various yoga asanas and breathing exercises under expert guidance, reflecting the growing awareness of yoga’s role in enhancing overall health and quality of life.
The programme aimed to encourage regular yoga practice and spread awareness about its benefits in maintaining fitness, reducing stress, and supporting healthy ageing. The event concluded with a renewed commitment among participants to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for a healthier and more balanced life.
