Under district initiative of Arogya Cachar scheme was initiated by Deputy Commissioner of Cachar today ceremonially inaugurated at Silchar in the presence of CEO i/c Health, Jt. Director Health Services, Assistant Commissioner, doctor on call, DPM NHM, DPM ASRLM, DDSM, etc.

This will be a centralized public grievance redressal system for all Covid needs even during late nights. This is in addition to the block-level efforts of teleconsultation. The district administration has been working on a war footing manner to fight against Covid by adopting the process of large-scale Covid testing, surveillance, and vaccination.

A massive Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) along with RTPCR will be starting in all Tea Gardens of the district from 31 st May to detect and diagnose Covid patients. In addition, it was announced that Project Aastha initiated in phase 1 of Covid in Cachar has been reinitiated under the war room for tele-counseling patients and families who are feeling extreme anxiety and worry during this time of the pandemic.

SMCH Psychiatry department has partnered for the same and anybody in need of some mental health counseling can contact the numbers. Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli added that “The war room will cater to the grievance redressal system, ambulance operation besides counseling. It will be connected with other various components of the district like disaster management and police.

The facility of 24-hour call service by doctors will also available in the central Command room of Cachar district”

The inaugural function was attended by Elded Feirhem, CEO Cachar Zilla Parishad and in charge of the Health Department, and J. Deb Sikdar in charge of Health Joint Director.
