Guwahati: BJP youth leader Abhilash Dutta has been booked following allegations that he assaulted a young man from Silchar after a minor traffic dispute in Guwahati.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the incident occurred after the victim allegedly overtook Dutta’s vehicle on a public road. The complainant claimed that he was subsequently assaulted and later threatened with death to deter him from taking legal action.

The FIR, registered at Latasil Police Station as Case No. 45/26, also alleged that Dutta frequently projected himself as a close associate of a BJP youth MLA to influence people.

Police have named three accused in the case: Abhilash Dutta, a resident of the Red Cross area in Chandmari, Apurba Sinha of Noonmati, and Mirin Talukdar of Chandmari.

A case has been registered against the accused, and an investigation is currently underway. Police have not yet issued any official statement regarding the allegations, and the claims remain under investigation. No response from the accused has been reported so far.
