Kokrajhar: A major burglary was reported from the DS-4 Railway residential quarters in Kokrajhar during the early hours of Saturday, raising fresh concerns over a series of recent thefts in the town.

The burglary took place at the residence of Kokrajhar Railway Station Master Chandan Kumar. According to family members, the burglars entered the house at around 4:30 am by opening a sliding window and unlocking the main door while the family was asleep.

The theft came to light in the morning after the family woke up and found valuables missing. The burglars allegedly fled with two mobile phones, cash, and gold and silver jewellery. The total value of the stolen property has been estimated at around Rs 4 lakh.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the burglary.

The incident has once again highlighted growing concerns over theft cases in Kokrajhar, with residents urging authorities to strengthen security measures in the area.
