Silchar: The District Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer of Cachar has appealed to the public to extend full cooperation to officials during the upcoming Census 2027 and make use of the online self-enumeration facility to ensure a smooth and efficient census process.
In a special video message, the District Commissioner urged residents to provide accurate information to census officials and refrain from believing or spreading rumours related to the census. He assured that all information collected during the exercise would remain strictly confidential and would be used only for official purposes.
The DC emphasized that Census 2027 is vital for planning and improving essential public services such as schools, roads, healthcare facilities, and other development initiatives. He also requested people to watch the complete video message, share it widely, and help make the census a success.
To make the process more convenient, citizens can complete their self-enumeration online through the official Census self-enumeration portal from August 2 to August 16, 2026, a 15-day window. By submitting their details in advance, residents can help reduce the time required when census officials visit their homes.
The self-enumeration facility is available at https://se.census.gov.in and is expected to make the overall census process faster, smoother, and more efficient. The awareness message has also been shared through official government channels, including the offices of the Chief Minister of Assam, the Directorate of Census Operations, Assam, and the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), encouraging maximum public participation in Census 2027.
