Five Accused Absconding

Dhubri: A couple was brutally attacked in broad daylight in Assam’s Dhubri district on Eid morning, in an incident that has raised serious concerns over law and order in the area. The attack was allegedly carried out by members of a family suspected to be involved in drug trafficking.
According to reports, the victim, Ramjan Mollah, was returning home after offering Eid prayers when he intervened in a dispute linked to alleged drug-related activities in the locality. The situation quickly turned violent, with the accused launching a vicious assault on him.
Mollah sustained grievous injuries, including a severe wound to his neck, and was rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment. His wife, who attempted to protect him, was also assaulted during the attack and suffered injuries.
Police sources said that five individuals have been identified as accused in the case. However, all of them are currently absconding. A manhunt has been launched to apprehend those involved.
The incident, which took place during the festive occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, has triggered fear and outrage among local residents. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against the perpetrators and efforts are underway to restore a sense of security in the area.
