Forces of Khatkati Police station of Karbi Anglong in Assam has arrested one Mantu Prasad son of Chabilal Prasad of Village Ajnana, Deuria district of Uttar Pradesh from village United Adavasi village located within the domain of Khatkati police station on Wednesday along with an unlicensed .22 pistol, and two numbers of ammunition of the handgun on Wednesday.

The locality notorious for drugs smuggling, bootlegging, arms smuggling, prostitution, oil pilferage, and other known sources of illegal trade and activities is witnessing a grouping of suspected armed antisocial elements. It is not clear whether the arrested person is related to Maoist groups or any other ragtag militant faction.
