Silchar: Rozy Deb, an MBA student of Assam University who was seriously injured in a road accident at Ambikapatty, is in urgent need of ₹60 lakh for her treatment and surgery.

In an effort to seek financial assistance, students of the MBA department went to Meherpur on Friday night to meet Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. However, they were unable to meet him directly. Despite waiting on the road when the Chief Minister arrived in Meherpur for rest, the students could not approach him, reportedly due to lack of cooperation from the authorities.

Later, the students brought the matter to the notice of Minister Krishnendu Paul and BJP candidate from Dholai constituency, Amiya Kanti Das. A memorandum highlighting their demand was subsequently forwarded to the Chief Minister, sources said.
