Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang has recently said that eviction process in Professional Grazing Reserve and Village Grazing Reserve has been initiated but void of support from police it’s not possible, which is not within the disposal of the council.

He informed the local media that the competent authority has informed the council that as the Lok Sabha election is fast imminent they cannot spare any police force for the eviction.

He also informed that the eviction will be done based on the standing Supreme Court order. He mentioned that this eviction is a large operation and doesn’t match with eviction carried out at Langkaijan and Dudu Colony etc. The present case involves more than 10,000 houses.
