Guwahati: Three young women were killed in a tragic road accident in Guwahati after a speeding car rammed into a stationary truck near Matgharia Gate Hospital.

According to reports, the vehicle, bearing registration number AS01GP0562, crashed into the truck at high speed, leading to the deaths of all three occupants on the spot. The impact of the collision was severe, officials said.

The driver of the car fled the scene immediately after the accident. Police have launched a search to trace the accused and are investigating the circumstances leading to the crash.

The bodies have been kept at the morgue of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for identification and post-mortem examination. Authorities said the identities of the victims are yet to be established.
