Tripura: In a decisive political shift, the Tipra Motha Party secured a landslide victory in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections, winning 24 out of 28 seats, as per official results declared on April 17.
Counting began at 8 AM across 17 designated centres amid tight security arrangements. Following standard procedure, VVPAT slips were counted first, after which the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were opened for final tabulation.
The Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win four seats, while other major contenders, including the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Indian National Congress, failed to make a notable impact in the council polls.
The outcome marks a significant consolidation of support for Tipra Motha in the tribal council, reinforcing its political strength in the region.
