Assam: Dr Abhay Kumar Pandey of the Tea Research Association (TRA), Tocklai, has been named among the world’s top 2 per cent of scientists for the fourth consecutive year in the Stanford University–Elsevier ranking.

Pandey secured the 1,195th position among more than 2 lakh researchers worldwide in the fields of Plant Biology and Botany, marking a significant achievement for tea research in India.

His research focuses on tea plant health, with findings that benefit tea growers in Assam and North Bengal. His work plays an important role in improving the understanding of tea plants and addressing challenges faced by the tea industry.

His continued recognition in the global ranking highlights the contribution of Indian scientists to plant science and tea research.
