Silchar: A workshop on “Understanding Indian Knowledge Systems” was held on Tuesday at the Conference Hall of Gurucharan University, Silchar. The programme was organised by the university’s Centre for Studies on Indian Knowledge Systems.
The workshop was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Niranjan Roy, Academic Registrar Dr. Abhijit Nath, along with professors, faculty members and students from different departments of the university.
Diganta Biswa Sharma, Professor of Practice at Dibrugarh University and Executive Committee Member of Sahitya Akademi, attended the programme as the resource person and spoke on the relevance and scope of Indian Knowledge Systems in contemporary education.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the distinguished guests. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Keshab Luitel.
The workshop later continued with discussions and interactions between the resource person, faculty members and students on different aspects of Indian knowledge traditions and their role in present day academic studies.
