Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, declared plans for basic infrastructural development in several areas administered by the council. 

He also mentioned some key educational institutions to be established in both autonomous districts, like Sainik School.

He made the important announcements while addressing the Unity, Peace, & Prosperity rally held at Haberam Rongphar playground of Dokmoka, located in the east of Karbi Anglong yesterday.

Ronghang said that new roads will be constructed in the Rongmongve and Socheng Dhenta Member of Autonomous Council constituency areas and the existing roads of Dokmoka town will be upgraded, to a two-lane road will be constructed to connect Samelangso and Langlokso.

Ronghang declared that the Howraghat subdivision will soon become a separate district and its headquarters will be at Samelangso. This plan will be executed to fulfill the conformity made in the Memorandum of Settlement signed in 2011.

Ronghang announced that a Sainik School will be established in a suitable location between Samelangso and Langlokso. This school has been approved by the Ministry of Defense, Government of India. 

The estimated cost will be around Rs 375 crore. Students will receive admission, uniforms, textbooks, and meals in this school.

Ronghang mentioned that under the Arunodoi scheme, free bicycles for female students, free rice for about 1.26 lakh receivers, and health benefits up to Rs 5 lakh with ration cards will start from the October end.
