75 years of Independence and the feeling of patriotism resonated in the heart and soul of the people of Silchar on the 15th of August.

The feeling of being free without bondage could be felt by people from different walks of life participating to portray patriotism in the best possible way they could. The urge to express how grateful they are for the feeling of Independence is paramount in people.

Malugram which is one of the prominent areas of Silchar town, the people tried something unique. With the initiative of a popular citizen, Arindam Dutta along with various other organisations namely Dibjyoti Sangha, Shree Shree Kali Mandir Seva Samiti, Shree Shree Shani Mandir Seva Samiti, Vivekananda Lane Development Committee, Vivekananda Lane Mahila Samiti hoisted a 75 ft. Indian National Flag in the field of Radharaman School. They not only hoisted the flag but also rallied the 75 ft. long National Tricolour around the town tuning into the feeling of unity, patriotism, and living for the Nation.

The world thought “DIVERSITY” to be a curse to the newly born free India in 1947 and many speculated about India’s existence as a Nation, this rally of 75 ft. long National Tricolour is a small answer which showcases Mother India with her diverse children is still standing strong aged 75 and more to come…
