Silchar: Cachar Police seized a huge consignment of suspected narcotic cough syrup during a naka checking operation at the NH-27 Puticherra Toll Gate.

Police intercepted a truck and recovered 21,600 bottles of Codeine Phosphate Syrup along with two mobile phones. The operation was carried out as part of the ongoing crackdown against illegal drug trafficking in the state.

A case has been registered and legal action under the NDPS Act is underway, police said.
