Silchar: In a unique initiative aimed at promoting reading among air travellers, a new “Flybrary” has been introduced at Silchar Airport under an initiative of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The term “Flybrary” is a portmanteau of the words “fly” and “library”. The concept seeks to create a reading space for passengers at airports and encourage a culture of book-sharing and reading during travel. As part of the initiative, teachers of Gurucharan University donated a total of 92 books to the Silchar Airport Authority on Monday.
Sources said the donated books cover different subjects and genres and will be made available for passengers at the airport Flybrary section. Airport officials and university representatives expressed hope that the initiative would help create a more engaging and meaningful experience for travellers passing through Silchar Airport.
