Silchar Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) in Assam has been developing the skills of boys and girls in the village through various programs for over 35 years. Socio-economic development is the goal of this organization by developing the skills of economically backward boys and girls. A JSS souvenir was unveiled on YouTube on the eve of the country’s 74th Independence Day on Saturday. 

Dr Rajdeep Roy, BJP MP from Silchar who was present online and unveiled the Souvenir said that due to the lack of educational infrastructure in our country, the children of the present generation are passing engineering but they lack practical knowledge. 

The book details the various initiatives and programs taken by the organization in the field of skill development. The MP hoped that the souvenir would provide guidance to the poor and needy people in Silchar in the coming days. 

Renowned international journalist Ratnajyoti Dutta based in New Delhi was present at the online event on YouTube. He said he has been acquainted with JSS since his college days. At that time JSS was known as Shramik Vidyapeeth. JSS has a close collaboration with Kalyan Ashram. Together, the two organizations have done a lot to empower the skills of indigenous youth. He is hopeful that the company will go further in strengthening the skills of unemployed youth and raising their self-confidence as Swami Vivekananda dreamed of. 

Swami Ganadishananda Maharaj of Silchar Ramakrishna Mission was present on the occasion. Visual Expert Dr. Shreya Chatterjee from Delhi. Everyone present on the occasion gave a short speech. A cultural program for teenagers led by Dr. Shreya Chatterjee also entertained the audience. JSS Director Sauvik Das thanked everyone for successfully conducting the entire event.
