Prof. M.M. Goel, Founder, Needonomics School of Thought joined as Vice-Chancellor, Starex University Gurugram on Tuesday. He was welcomed by Chancellor Shri Mohinder Singh with a Bunch of flowers along with the Starex family. His latest position was Advisor Public Finance 6th State Finance Commission Haryana.  He has 40 years of teaching experience in economics including 16 years as a Professor. He has worked as Vice-Chancellor, JNU Jaipur, and RGNIYD Sriperumbudur ( Government of India). He was Pro-Vice-Chancellor of VKSU Ara, the State University of Bihar after retirement from Kurukshetra University where he worked in various capacities including Dean of Colleges & Social Sciences, Chairperson Dept of Economics & Journalism.

Prof. Goel is a researcher, guide, orator, prolific writer and experienced in educational governance in Universities under state, centre, and private sector. Professor Goel has international recognition. He was the first ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) Chair Professor in South Korea at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul. He was bestowed upon the honor of ‘Ambassador for Peace’ by the Universal Peace Federation. Adjunct Professor at School of Indic Studies, Institute of Advanced Sciences Dartmouth, USA.  Professor Goel was conferred Rotary Foundation Award for international understanding in 1983 which provided him the opportunity to be an Indian representative in the USA, UK, and Canada. He has also been in South Korea, Sri Lanka, Australia, Norway & Malaysia, Indonesia, and Nepal.

At the National front, Professor Goel was honored in 2018 with ‘Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Education Excellence Award’ by Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage Kolkata. NAAC, Bangalore has also utilized the services of Professor Goel as Chairperson/Member Coordinator Peer Team several times.  He represented University Grants Commission (UGC) as its nominee in advisory committee DSA III SAP Dept. of Economics, Osmania University, Hyderabad during 2009-14. He was a member Board of Governors Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and National Service Scheme (NSS), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (Government of India). He is a Member of the Board of Governors of the Academy of Grassroots Studies and Research of India from 2021 onwards.

One of the distinct honors a Professor involved in research can have is the publication of the book ‘Economics- A Research journey with Professor M.M. Goel’ edited by Dr. Pradeep S. Chauhan and published by VK Global publications on retirement. His area of research is Economics of Human Resource Development & Indian Economy. He has 447 publications including 5 books, 1 monograph, 111 journal research papers, 36 chapters in edited books, 60 conference proceedings, and 234 print media articles to his credit.  He has successfully guided 23 Ph.D. and 25 MPhil Scholars. He has completed two research projects. He has established his credentials in economic journalism and development communication.

Professor Goel has served as the Editor of KUK Research Journal of Arts and Humanities and Journal of Haryana Studies, in addition as the Chief Editor of “Kautilya”. He is on the editorial board of Finance India. He has drafted the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy of KUK as Nodal Officer IPR Cell. He enjoys the status of the spiritual citizen as intellectual on www.speakingtree.in  (with 189 blogs).

He is a recipient of two gold medals for standing first class first in MPhil (Economics) and PGDJMC.
